Big Boy Toys was created by Jack "Kamikaze" Richmond and Tony "Baron" Oglesby and began operating in November 2001 with a small 10 ft x 10ft Vignette (booth) in the Wilcox Emporium in Boone, North Carolina. At that time, we sold a variety of Airsoft guns from Specialized Distribution including ICS as well as ammo and green gas. We also carried 12 inch action figures from 21st Century Toys and Remote Control Airsoft Tanks from Tokyo Marui.

In November 2002 we determined that the Emporium setting was not appropriate for our products. Sales were very poor. This led to the decision to move out of the Wilcox Emporium and begin special order sales from the owner’s home.
In early 2003, Jack and Tony led in the formation of SG-12, an Airsoft team then based in the mountains of North Carolina and the second oldest organized team in North carolina. The creation of this team began to increase the local interest in higher end Airsoft equipment. Big Boy Toys began to upgrade and repair the guns for the local players.
In September 2006, Big Boy Toys moved from the mountains of western North Carolina to Oak Ridge, a suburb of Greensboro, NC. We currently operate from Jack's home.
Our website went online in July 2007.
With the incredible growth of Airsoft in the state of North Carolina, Big Boy Toys has seen considerable growth as well. We are currently considered the preferred service center for several teams located in North Carolina.
While Big Boy Toys operates primarily from the home of its owner, Jack, we also have the capability of setting up at area games. We have a traveling store in the form of the trailer pictured below. Please visit the "Mobile Store" page for more information and photos.
Big Boy Toys now carries and services Classic Army, ICS, TSD, and Echo1 weapons as well as many smaller, lesser known weapon manufacturers. We can service or upgrade just about any Airsoft gun on the market. We are also a factory dealer for: Condor Outdoor Products tactical gear, Tru-Spec military uniforms and gear, and Fog-Tech defog solution. We are constantly adding product lines, so be sure to check back often.
